I had the same issue. The fix that was suggested to me was to uncheck sticky settings. That moves settings towards the top of the lateral menu.

5·10 months agoI unchecked General -> Lateral Menu -> Sticky Settings and that moved settings up to where it’s accessible. Thanks! Still not crazy about how content can hide under the top and bottom bars though.
I’ve tried gesture navigation several times and it’s just not for me. I much prefer the three-button nav option.
GrapheneOS has Storage Scopes which allow you to define which folders an app can access. In this case, you’d give your media app access to that folder but not your gallery app. Pretty handy but it’s only on Pixels and one Motorola phone at the moment.
