The viewers aren’t the game masters, though. I honestly wouldn’t want to participate in a game where I have to retain the attention of people without giving them anything of value. I think at some point those who participate also need to take some responsibility.
janonymous@lemmy.worldto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What is the worst online community, that isn't Reddit, that you know about and all should avoid?1·1 day agoI don’t know if I would call it an incel site. Isn’t it just generally “edgy” humor with an IT/nerd slant? Meaning they straddle the line between dog whistle racism and mysogeny and going full mask off.
That reminds me: 9gag

Also love the language, really makes me want to participate more in this community!

janonymous@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's a really popular TV show you just couldn't get into?3·3 days agoI really like (most of) game of thrones, but it’s a tough watch at times for sure. Breaking Bad on the other hand seemed to be nothing but a tough watch. Stopped watching when the mom starts smoking while pregnant. It was just too much, unrelenting misery for me. I can see it’s a really well made show, that deserves the praise, but I just can’t stomach it.
I think it’s hissing like noises in general that cats find upsetting

janonymous@lemmy.worldto Movies@lemmy.world•What's a poorly received movie that you liked?English19·8 days agoTwo movies come to mind:
Alita Battle Angel (2019) might be the best Anime adaptation to date. It has become one of my favorite movies of all time. I guess it wasn’t received badly, it has been barely received at all. This should have been a blockbuster, but most people aren’t even aware the movie exists! It’s such a shame, I really hope we get the follow up movies, because this one was great!
John Carter (2012) wasn’t great, I have to admit. I can’t argue with it’s 6.6 rating on IMDb. It’s a flawed movie, but it is so much fun! It’s an epic pulp adventure! If you go in expecting just that, turn off your brain and just enjoy the ride, you will have a great time! People were really too hard on it, when it came out!
janonymous@lemmy.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•If you have cut off mainstream music streaming, how do you discover new music or artists and songs like what you're listening frequently?15·8 days agoI recommend Radio Paradise! It’s an independent online radio stream with a great, eclectic selection and no ads, except the occasional reminder that they are donation financed. It’s honestly one if not the best radio stream there is.
Awesome!

Honestly, I don’t understand people who post “normal” stuff here. Aren’t there more suitable places? Or is it to maximize reach or fake internet point gathering?
I feel like your title, text and spoiler are talking about three different things. There are many types of anxiety that can be tackled differently.
You already got good tips for most, so I’m going to concentrate on your spoiler text: When you are too high, I recommend chewing coffee beans. They act calming on those cases.
As for your existential anxiety: You might want to continue that train of thought to it’s conclusion: Eventually everything ceases to exist. Nothing is permanent. Everything is in flow. All that is, all that matters, is now. This moment. And all you need to do is live it.
janonymous@lemmy.worldOPto Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•Going to bed makes any dream possible2·2 months agoI had that thought still in bed, to be honest
Yeah, thought about it, but it’s the title of the YouTube video. On Nebula, where I watched it, it’s called “The Death of Hollywood’s Liberal Fantasy”, which is a little better? I think the issue might be the word “liberal”.
In any case, I felt it was a bit of a lost cause, so I just added that line. And now, I think I just want to leave it as it is, as sort of a cautionary tale. I’m not trying to convince anyone or market that video 🤷
