I dunno I think they may have been involved. But maybe they looked the other way. I think Kennedy knew about aliens and wanted to tell the world. But that is my tin foil hat, lol.

Today I Learned@lemmy.world•*Permanently Deleted*English
161·1 month agoIn the 60s, the CIA proposed multiple false flag attacks and operations on Cuba to former President JFK that would be considered borderline terrorism today. Much in the same way that Trump is launching an invasion in Iran and Putin in Ukraine. Thankfully Kennedy did decline most of their proposals because he thought they crossed the line though he did grant them permission to do some basic things. Still not good he let them intervene at all though that’s not the worst thing the CIA has done.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What TV shows are absolutely worth watching?
3·1 month agoThat’s true and I suppose it is almost a decade but to me 7 years is not long. Though yeah I do agree.

34·1 month agoSurely that emits a lot of bad stuff into the atmosphere especially during a heatwave? Can’t be very good for the environment!

26·1 month ago“How it still holds up”. Chernobyl came out in 2019. That’s not that old! It’s only 7 years. It might be a long time but not enough for a show to get dated like that.

None of this is about your mental health or protecting fragile people. It’s about policing the Internet. The government hates the free and open internet. They want a regulated one like Russia, China, and North Korea. That is the real reason behind this sudden shift against social media. They are scared of being exposed such as the Epstein Files. They want our Digital ID so they can police us with facial recognition software. 1984 is coming sooner then you think! And I say this as someone from the UK where it is already begun. We never had freedom of speech to start with though.

Reddit@lemmy.world•Users Furious as Reddit Intentionally Breaks Its Mobile Website, Demanding Users Download Its App Instead
1·3 months agoUnfortunately or fortunately perhaps, I am banned from reddit. The reason was for reporting too many posts. Mods never cared about any of the rule breakers. They claimed I was trying to break the site by reporting posts too much. So I got banned without warning. Oh well.
Land of the free! Just not free of debt though nobody is I suppose.

Reddit@lemmy.world•Users Furious as Reddit Intentionally Breaks Its Mobile Website, Demanding Users Download Its App Instead
17·3 months agoThe annoying thing about the app was that it copied Facebook and constantly spammed my feed with subreddits I was not subscribed to. I used an alternative app for a while and that worked ok. It is so annoying when Facebook and the like constantly force you to follow pages and groups you are not interested in.

World News@lemmy.world•UK moves to ban smoking for everyone born after 2008English
22·4 months agoIf people over 18 can buy it then that’s fine. I do think under 18 is too young for cigs. Way to ruin your lungs. Though I am wary of how totalitarian the UK is becoming especially for young people - no phones, no social media. Prohibition and banning people turns us into North Korea, China, and Russia. It’s a fine line to cross. However, we definitely do need tighter regulations for certain things. But I think the gov is diving in head first instead of finding a more nuanced approach with things. This feels more like it’s about control and policing society rather than making a healthy and happier society.

Unfortunately there are still fascist idiots in the American government right now so not much has changed! But yeah glad they did not Nuke Cuba. That would have been bad.
