  • Suarez 13/14. Finished 7th in 12/13, and recruited Luis Alberto, Iago Aspas and Aly Cissokho on loan in the transfer market and he single handedly turned them into title challengers. He had no right to do that and some of the things he did that year were just alien.

Messi and Ronaldo obviously had the longevity to produce over many many years, but I don’t think either of them managed to hit the level Suarez was on for that 1 single season ever in their career.

And whenever I talk about this Suarez season, I also like to point out Rodgers roll in it, who recognized what a talent he had at his disposal and how to set up the squad and tactics to get arguably the most ridiculous season out of a football player in history.

  • Daniel Sturridge.

Was not impressed when we signed him for 15m from Chelsea. They were our rivals and he couldn’t get a game there. And when he did, he didn’t really show anything great. Didn’t think he was good enough. I remember showing my dissatisfaction to my friend from work about his signing.

Man, ended up possibly being the best natural finisher we’ve had at the club in recent ish times. Some of the goals he scored… If it weren’t for Suarez in 13/14 he would have been much more talked about. That lob against west brom is still one of the most outrageous goals I’ve ever seen.

  • The uk government have stepped in to block sanctions being handed to city over concerns that the UAE will pull out of important trading deals with the uk, specifically over oil should city be banned, relegated or stripped of titles. A bunch of Government ITKs not related to football all said this when Evertons point deduction was first being talked about in March. A lenient fine of pocket change might be agreed upon but city are untouchable and it’s utter bullshit. Nothing will happen.
