Technology@lemmy.world•'Consider a system with no DRAM' replaced by a 'recycling fiber loop': John Carmack envisages bold future to avoid AI-driven RAM crisisEnglish
11·2 days agoThe lack of investment in more production capacity for RAM is based on a roughly 3-year horizon for this insane extra AI demand.
Creating workable consumer-grade alternatives with delay line memory of all things would take longer than that, and the market would collapse the moment AI demand for RAM dried up. This is one of those things that is theoretically possible but due to both technology and market conditions will absolutely not be a thing.

3·4 days agoRegime change isn’t the goal.
According to his latest tweet “unconditional surrender” is his goal. I wonder what his goal will be next week.

5·5 days agoBombing alone has never worked as a means of forcing regime change. So Trump will either have to succeed at this for the first time in history, back down (seems unlikely at this point) or put boots on the ground (for which he has not manufactured consent).I guess he could also just die on the shitter and make it the next guys problem. There are many avenues for the US to lose here.
No
The article was perfectly readable to me but sure cope harder.

51·5 days agoWell the guy in the video named the Jesuits and free masons so …no?
Just imagine how silly all those Bush 2 era ghouls feel. All that effort spent faking evidence for WMDs, faking a presentation to the UNSC, months and months of effort spent manufacturing consent.
Turns out you can just skip all of that.

Don’t most insects breathe through their skin? Including some of the wrong options? I don’t think bees or mantises have lungs.

World News@lemmy.world•U.S. Troops Were Told Iran War Is for “Armageddon,” Return of JesusEnglish
3·6 days agoWe had a babysitter whose husband was a pastor and would always talk about being scared for our souls. In her eyes, being a good person and having a private relationship with God was inadequate to avoid going to hell. She truly felt that church attendance and renouncing other religions was the only path to salvation - belief, prayer, and following the teachings of Jesus would be inadequate.
It’s hilarious that these offshoots of Protestantism basically went so deep into the sauce that they became Catholics again. Martin Luther spinning in his grave.
Shit Americans will do instead of just abolishing HOAs.
He wouldn’t because he literally doesn’t understand the meaning of the word sacrifice. He was asked in the 2016 campaign what he has sacrificed for America and he replied that he created jobs.

News@lemmy.world•Trump Reportedly Mulling Plan to Declare ‘National Emergency’ Paving Way for Major Power Grab
233·11 days agoThe only thing holding a lot of Americans back from violence is the knowledge that that’s exactly the excuse the regime wants to declare martial law and suspend elections.
The only things holding Americans back from violence are relatively abundant food, entertainment and comfort. All of which will still continue to exist once free elections are gone. Plus what they replace them with will be branded super duper free elections, and that will be enough for a lot of people.
There is little to no evidence that the 1/3rd of eligible voters who didn’t vote in Nov 2024 are any more engaged with what is happening than they were back then.
All they have to do is orchestrate this coup in a somewhat intelligent way that doesn’t immediately collapse the economy and they can absolutely pull it off.
Most Americans are not going to fight for abstract rights when their immediate tangible needs are being met.
They definitely make saxophones too. Probably most of the orchestra lol

It doesn’t matter who they have dinner with when they answer to their handlers at AIPAC. Israel wants this war so they will make a few noises to pretend to be opposition but do everything tangible to support it.
