The trick is that this picture is taken at 1am or something, I think.

nyctre@lemmy.worldto Games@lemmy.world•European Commission preparing token gesture for angry gamers and game developersEnglish10·3 days agoThat’s 2 out of 10, not some hundreds. So if we’re going by the odds, SKG has a 1 in 5 chance of getting a law passed. Better than nothing.
nyctre@lemmy.worldto Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•My world is so much better because of immigrants1·5 days agoThe name shāwarmā in Arabic is a rendering of the term çevirme in Ottoman Turkish (چيويرمى [tʃeviɾˈme], lit. ‘turning; hence, roughly synonymous to döner in this context’), referring to rotisserie.>
So maybe it depends whose version of shawarma you’ve had. All the ones I’ve seen so far (in different European countries) have been with rotisserie /doner kebab.
Names seem interchangeable in many places, in my experience. When I was a kid the difference between kebab and shawarma used to be that one was in a bun and the other was a wrap, for some reason. The bun has been phased out, unfortunately, and now it’s only wraps everywhere.

nyctre@lemmy.worldtoPolitical Memes@lemmy.world•To those in countries where democracy might last another election - **harm reduction is not optional**4·11 days agoDunno, the most recent example was Romania. In the first round, 40% voted for the far right cunt and all the others had 20% or less. In the second round where there were only 2 candidates left, Nicușor Dan won with 53% and the far right cunt got 46%. So… Z doesn’t always win.
nyctre@lemmy.worldtoPolitical Memes@lemmy.world•To those in countries where democracy might last another election - **harm reduction is not optional**135·11 days agoTil that only Australians and the Irish live in democracy. It’s used in other places, ofc, but on smaller scales.
Not to say I’m against it or anything, I’m all for it, but your statement is a bit exaggerated.
I thought the beard was the only important part. What does built like a cult leader mean?

Might be something else. I’m also using boost and there’s no issues here.
He reminded me of Jon Favreau. Or David Zayas
Thanks again for these, fun read as always. Really sucks to hear about the health stuff. Rooting for you to get good news from the specialist!
nyctre@lemmy.worldto Games@lemmy.world•What are your favourite single-player games without much fluff, grinding or difficulty spikes?English1·17 days agoOh, you’re right, I missed that part. Shit.
nyctre@lemmy.worldto Games@lemmy.world•What are your favourite single-player games without much fluff, grinding or difficulty spikes?English1·17 days agoTime spent riding during missions has never felt like fluff to me. As it’s usually filled up with dialogue and stuff. Plus the nature and views and stuff are relaxing.
For the in-between missions riding you can just get one of those cheat menu mods and use the teleport feature.
nyctre@lemmy.worldto Games@lemmy.world•What are your favourite single-player games without much fluff, grinding or difficulty spikes?English1·17 days agoWhich is why I suggested using cheats to make the game easier.
nyctre@lemmy.worldto Not The Onion@lemmy.world•Film Critic Ted Cruz Outraged By ‘Out of Touch’ Hollywood’s Top Movies ListEnglish2·17 days agoOverrated in the sense that it’s not a top 30 movie? Yeah, I can definitely pick at least 50 films that I think are better. It was definitely a good film, tho. Been a long time so I don’t remember specifics, but I don’t remember it feeling like multiple films stitched together or anything. And even if it did, it could be argued that it’s an artistic decision? Since it shows different times in their lives. Hell, for most people Sunday 29th vs Monday 30th can make two vastly different movies.
Then again, I’m not that picky about movies nor am I much of a critic so I don’t really know what I’m talking about xD
nyctre@lemmy.worldto Games@lemmy.world•What are your favourite single-player games without much fluff, grinding or difficulty spikes?English1·18 days agoDefinitely. Thought I put it there, but guess not.
nyctre@lemmy.worldto Games@lemmy.world•What are your favourite single-player games without much fluff, grinding or difficulty spikes?English1·18 days agoYeah, that’s fair, had forgotten about that. Then again, that’s one of the games where cheats can make it playable.
nyctre@lemmy.worldto Games@lemmy.world•What are your favourite single-player games without much fluff, grinding or difficulty spikes?English5·18 days agoI mean, if you’ve enjoyed Skyrim, honestly you can just google “best RPGs of all time” and play any that will show up. I’m gonna go against the grain here and say that Skyrim’s world is beautiful and the combat is cool but there’s nothing special about the story or the quests. Try enderall, fallout London, gothic 1+2 + archolos, mass effect 1-3, disco Elysium, Witcher 1-3, Baldur’s Gate 1-3, Neverwinter nights 1+2, dragon age origins, fallout new Vegas, pillars of eternity1+2, Kotor 1+2, south park stick of truth + fractured butthole, cyberpunk, fable the lost chapters, divinity original sin 1+2, dark messiah of might and magic(fun and underrated, imo), etc.
If at any point you feel like the combat is too hard or whatever you can use cheats and just enjoy the story. All of these have pretty good ones. At least all of these have less grinding and better story than Pokemon games, in my experience.
Beyond that, just go for popular, widely acclaimed games such as rdr2, bioshock, whichever doom you want, portal 1+2, etc.
nyctre@lemmy.worldto Today I Learned@lemmy.world•TIL Disney killed a bunch of puppies making "Snow Buddies" and weren't allowed to use the "no animals were harmed" claimEnglish5·18 days agoHeavily reduced meat and animal product consumption but not yet vegan, no. It requires more research and time and energy than I have right now to fully switch. (And a few more good recipes, because many are quite meh, for some reason) But I’ll get there eventually.
And vegans haven’t been rude to me, thanks for your concern. It’s not about that, even. But all those jokes that are floating around haven’t been created by the meat industry. It’s not some conspiracy. You know the phrase “you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar”? That’s all I’m saying… and it’s not even about veganism… it’s about life in general. People are way too angry, especially online. Too quick to judgement and insults. They say the same thing about leftists… that they’re too busy fighting amongst themselves rather than focusing on what matters.
Disagreed with plenty of people in real life, but it’s never been like this. Never heard the phrase “meat eater” in real life, even tho I’ve talked with plenty of vegans. Same for “tankie” and a bunch of others.
Wasn’t concrete bad for the environment? Just leave them there without pouring anything. More content and probably more entertaining as well.
