World News@lemmy.world•Trump threatens 200% tariffs on French wine and champagne after Macron refuses to join 'board of peace'English
28·18 days agoHe’s also dying and knows it. He has spoken in the recent past about using peace to ve able to get into heaven. He actually thinks he can barter his way into heaven. The man has no concept, none at all, of human decency for the sake of human decency. He is the worst of the worst of our species and the USians chose to elect him not once, but twice. It says a lot about USian culture, and not in a good way.

News@lemmy.world•A wave of new polls shows Trump’s support cratering across the board.
23·21 days agoStory of his life. Everyone hates him because he lies, steals, sues people into oblivion and threatens them. Somehow that’s helped him fail upwards. Lather, rinse, repeat, constantly moving onto bigger targets. He will never, ever stop until his body quits, and he always has hordes of enablers to ensure he extracts what he wants from his next victim. He is evil incarnate.

5·29 days agoYes, the fear and anger is addictive. It’s why reality TV shows are so popular, it’s why outrageousness in the news headlines are par for the course. Americans are so very disconnected from real life and have been for a long time. Issues across the world barely register on the average American radar. It’s become a deeply unhealthy culture and I don’t know how your country is going to survive this.

1·1 month agoI can call them whatever I want. That’s the neat thing about the English language - it’s versatile.
Also, I refuse to call them “Americans” anymore. USians don’t own that term. As a Canadian, I’m american, cause I live in North America. People who live in Mexico and South America are also americans. In fact, they have more title to that name than USians or myself as a non-indigenous person.
And it will always be Gulf of Mexico.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What's it going to take to truly stop the US?
1·1 month agoThe Canadian government is working on making a 300,000 civilian army as we speak. Also, since the USA has no more rule of law who’s to say Canada has to follow the Geneva Convention anymore. Turnabout is fair play, no?

politics @lemmy.world•Jake Tapper says Trump has health issue that ‘they’re not telling us’ about
9·2 months agoBest explanation I’ve seen for these bandages over bruises is he is receiving an infusion intravenously every two weeks of a type of medication for dementia, like Leqembi or Kisunla. Patients on these drugs require regular MRIs to monitor brain swelling or bleeding. The drugs cause side effects of fatigue, cardiovascular changes, dizziness, etc. It doesn’t stop dementia but it does slow it down.

The administration is all over the country at the moment buying up warehouses to store ICE kidnapees. There will be way more than 100 deaths by the end of 2026 if the trajectory of current events isn’t brought to a halt immediately.
