Part of the problem with replay in most sports I’ve seen, I think, is that refs tend to swallow their whistles because if they don’t stop play, replay can always correct a mistake where if they do stop play, the play is dead. Offside flag being the exception to this.

But because the burden on replay is clear and obvious, it has to be a ridiculous standard to overturn a call that pre-replay would’ve just been called.

I’ve seen it over and over again in NFL, NBA and college football and basketball. And it happens in the Premier League as well.

Football Ramble is my most consistent listen. Mostly reasonable with a good number of laughs.

As an Arsenal fan, I do think that Andy Brassell has an obvious bias against them for some reason, so I sometimes don’t listen when he’s on.

All the others are biased as well to a degree based on their teams, but they’re up front about it. Andy does not.

But it’s still the best podcast on the subject for me.
