You couldn’t scrap VAR at this point. It’s just too necessary - with instant TV replays… can you imagine the outrage over a huge missed call…

An offisde rule/practice that should be changed: Assistant refs keeping their flags down even when they see offsides, to let the play play out…

So sometimes you get these intense 1v1 situations with the keeper that could lead to injury, and the whole thing doesn’t count anyway…

I’d like to see real-time communication between VAR and the refs, so if the linesman does keep his flag down, the VAR could tell him ASAP - “yup, it’s OFF,” and he could then raise the flag before the play continues too far…

the rule is actually one of the more clear ones in football: if any part of your body that can legally play the ball is past the last defender when the ball is played, then you are offside

fingernail no, because it’s not a body part that can legally play the ball. Shoelace - maybe??? Would a flapping jersey or shorts that was in an offside position be enough, or does it have to be the player’s body. What about hair??!
