There were shadowy conspiracists lurking in the dark alleys of Washington, and hiding from the glaring sun in the High Desert of California, but they were laughably easy prey when the Martian lizard people, the subterranean Vril-empowered mole-men, and the globalist pedophile Commies did show up.

  • I helped a friend move in with his girlfriend, and they stood in the door to the new apartment and started arguing about where the large wardrobe should go - while me and another guy were standing on the stairs, carrying it.
When the argument turned to shouting, and they completely ignored us, we set the wardrobe down on the stairs and left.

  • Just tried setting no country, then ducked “wine”.
Results were definitely still from my country first.
When I set display language to US English, results came up from the US, instead.
When I set it to French, it shows French websites at the top.
So the language you set affects what websites you are shown in the results. That sucks.

But you can actually just turn off ads in the settings. That’s pretty fucking neat!

  • Protip for when you need help moving:

    • Set and communicate a date well in advance, ideally as soon as you sign the new lease.
    • Ask 3x as many people as you think you’ll need.
    • Have everything packed when they arrive.
    • Only fill boxes with heavy stuff half-way.
    • And make absolutely sure there’s food and drink available at all times.

  • I clicked on the first link to the options appendix and noped right the fuck out.
That’s a level of involvement I reserve for activities where I either get paid 100€+/h, or otherwise support my family.

And from what I hear, the main selling point of NixOS is how easy it is to reinstall.
Which I don’t do more than once every couple of years.
And then I click “next” a bunch of times on Debian, and copy /home over from my backup.

  • Open communication is a must. Ask your wife. She’s the only person who can tell you that.
But don’t ask in a way that makes it her responsibility to solve this issue.

The initiative to fix your relationship must come from you now. Don’t make her ask or wonder.
You have to do the work now, and hope that’s enough for her.

A good first step would be a shared calendar where you input all of your appointments, activities, meetings with friends, etc.
Just to show her you aren’t hiding anything.
She can use it for her schedules, too. But that’s her decision.
