There are under the hood data that is not displayed on the site which they can scrap. FB would be broke if they only rely on the FB posts alone without all the tracking everywhere. Even your movement on the screen or where you pause on the page are tracked.
So no they dont get all the data unless we federate them.
#31 in australian app store. And yes I did download it, gave a 5* and an actual review, then deleted and reinstalled the test flight version. All worked perfecty
I was clueless when I first used the app too
Congratulations @gkd@lemmy.ml and the team!
I want to give it 5* but it looks like I would need to download the app store version
Can confirm this issue is fixed in 0.0.2.17
Maybe OP/mod can edit post to mark it as resolved
Have you contacted this guy? He designed icons for lemmy.world mastodon.world and calckey.world
Example of a post WITH text AND a link @gkd@lemmy.ml https://lemmy.management/post/515867
Post shown in Memmy without the link
Actual post on web browser (you dont see below screenshot in Memmy but on browser)
#3 you can save the picture then post without linking
I have the same issue. Sometimes comment was posted, sometimes not.
I actually had that error when submitting this comment. Keep submitting will eventually work
Edit: maybe network/instance issue??
I kind of like the new search.
However I think there might be an issue where you type something and need to tap away from search box then tap communities/post/people to get to the result. It should have been only 1 tap. @gkd@lemmy.ml
Maybe it would be better to combine old + new. For example when typing a term then Return on keyboard, then it shows all results in addition to what it does now
Awesome update! Keep up the good work
I am mostly excited about Saved now working. My only question is: Is there a way to recover locally saved items before this update? Are they saved to a file/database on my phone?
Which version are you using?
Ps: I’m using the browser to reply
My bad I was not clear. The app is obviously at a very early stage and there are lots of missing functionality. I guess this is one of them and you can’t view saved posts yet.
I asked the dev and he said the app saved locally to the app data on your phone, cos the feature was coded before he knew Lemmy has the save (bookmark) functionality. Eventually I think it will be implemented. They are focusing on major features and bug fixes I believe
May ask the dev to do a PSA so people know
Its saved to local now. I think save to lemmy will be implemented in the future
Thats awesome. Thanks for the tips
Next nice to have: tap once more to go back to the main feed (if you were browsing a post)
I have 2 accounts too and made a mistake entering beehaw one first, which blocked lemmy.world
A workaround I used is to delete the app and its data then reinstall
Appreciate the heads up and your thoughtfulness for your users.
I hope Lemmy 0.18 is properly tested before release now that lots of users are using it
No subs for aussie.zone either if that helps
