Email is actually great, it’s the original fediverse - anyone can start a server and interoperate with everyone else. With a decent client it doesn’t need to be clunky either, although with 90% of people stuck in webmail I can understand why people think it sucks.

Hmm, I like both of those movies but way different vibes. Crimson Tide might as well already be a Trek script, but Training Day? Freshly minted Captain versus effective but corrupt badmiral perhaps? XO and captain maybe?

I’m not sure I agree this is an awful location if you’re going to make a big studio campus. It’s not in Austin atm but it will be eventually (it’s currently surrounded) and 290/183 are useful veins. If you’ve read all the OG Dune content, I say go for it. They aren’t at the same level, but they’re… Fine. Get it from the library or wherever and try it. Go in with low expectations and possibly get pleasantly surprised, or never pick them up again.

Totally. I had a few runs on it while it was in the unstable branch and the new mechanics are great, but firing it up after the stable release and seeing all the love put into older map locales really made it feel like a brand new game.

It’s basically the best virtualization platform. It can do full system emulation across a number of platforms, or hardware assisted virtualization (using KVM). It’s incredibly useful for debug as well as doing real work.

Compete with AMD as well. They don’t license the designs directly, but the reason they’ve dominated the last couple generations of consoles is they’re willing to do custom work where Intel traditionally was more “take it or leave it”

Their arms and legs don’t pop out of holes in their shells, their shells are more like wraps around their torsos (it’s a strapless dress, not a onesie). Also those scutes (panels of the shell) are fucked.

It does seem like a parody. Isn’t the backstory of Ebenezer Scrooge throwing his life and relationships away for profit? I can see some opportunities for showing how stupid that is, but without the epiphany moment of A Christmas Carol, will he just end the story as a bitter old man?

Or is this just a retelling of the whole story at which point it’s yet another remake that doesn’t need to be made…

If I had to guess, it just kept the programmers from being super lazy about it. If the individual enemy AI doesn’t have exact coordinates of the player, it actually has to move around, search a space, potentially manipulate the environment, and possibly fail to find the player, versus doing what is effectively an idle animation while waiting for the player to step out of cover.

I’m with you. She’s especially great at physical comedy. Reminds me a lot of Lucille Ball in I Love Lucy. Not to mention, she’s a complete 90s fashion icon.

Her later work as president of the Screen Actor’s Guild showing solidarity and striking with the writers made me a fan before I ever watched the show.
