Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What do you love about AI? (Good vibes only please)
102·14 days agoIt’s gives me the confidence to tackle projects I’ve previously ruled out knowing that there may be some particular part of it that’s completely out of my skillset, but now I can get AI to walk me through that bit.

8·16 days agoI’m not sure how I feel about this. I don’t hurt other people and I think most don’t but I feel like that what makes other people feel nice, knowing they could hurt you but choose not to. If I’m in trouble I think most people are more likely to help than hurt me. A little bit of danger makes it exciting.
This happened with Ultima Inline years ago, they made two servers, one for people who wanted PvP and one for those who don’t, and you could switch between them relatively freely. The PvP side ended up being a total death trap where you would get PKed instantly while the other side felt too safe.

Do Valve still only officially support .deb? Could that be part of the streaming issues?
The hottest temperature ever recorded on Earth is like 56.
Specifically, I asked it to clarify what it was supposed to do overnight as I’d given it a job and told it to start at midnight. I then said “good luck” for some reason and apparently that was all it took for it to get completely distracted.
This one’s relatable. I left mine with a big job to do last night, the idea being that it could grind it while I was asleep and the at work, and it would have finished when I got back. Just checked in and it forgot to start it.

Sounds like maybe a Roald Dahl thing like Matilda.
Frankly I think the UK would like it if NI rejoined Ireland, it’d probably make things a lot simpler for everyone. There was a vote in the 70s and it was like 99% remain in the UK. The UK government has said that they’ll do a vote if it ever looked like the majority might want to rejoin but it’s not there right now. I know a few people from there and they agree with that.
I understand that a party that wants to reunify got voted into power there for the first time ever but I don’t think it was on any promise to reunify if you know what I mean, but I think things are slowly heading in that direction.
If the people of NI actually wanted to reunify I don’t know anyone in England who would have a problem with it, but the government won’t hand over any land if the majority of the people there want to remain part of the UK. Trump is just making his comments because he’s pissed that the UK wouldn’t help with the Epstein Wars.
Was it whacky or serious? Demon Headmaster?
I watched a documentary where a bird did that with its beak.

I think this weird anti-self-checkout crowd is just young people who don’t remember the times before self-checkouts. Even if every checkout was manned it was still completely normal to wait upwards of ten minutes, even when it wasn’t that busy. I remember my Mum excitedly running to a checkout because there was only one person queueing there. Nowadays I totally expect there to be no queue at all and I feel hard done by if I have to queue for more than one minute.
