I have an iPhone. It’s pretty recent, but definitely not the most recent. No, I don’t know exactly what model it is. It’s an utterly boring glass brick that lets me find out stuff and say stuff and take pictures. It set itself up from my last iPhone like a clone emerging from a vat, and someday it will be fated to transfer its lifeforce to its brother-self-son. Such is the way of the iPhone.

The Silmarillion is definitely the “Bible” of Middle Earth, and its structure, content, and style all reflect that. I was mostly just cracking wise about the similarities.

I live less than ten minutes from a decent enough multiplex, but I only go to one or two movies a year, when it’s a project I am excited for and the spectacle of the thing makes the giant screen, giant speakers, and properly darkened viewing room outweigh all the incredible advantages of watching at home.

I still don’t get any popcorn though. If I’m into the movie enough to deal with the… ugh… theater, I don’t need to bother with overpriced concessions.
