He won because Trump failed to steal the election after a once in a century pandemic. That’s who he was running against. Then after 4 years we all got secondary amnesia from watching Biden.

We just took one of their toys: an oil tanker.

Okay, Marge Simpson
It could be different but that is what the companies are stating as their operational life span when they report their financials. They used to say they would only last 4 years…
I agree people are selfish but I disagree on where that leads us. Acting as a collective is the best way to be selfish. Billionaires have their collectives: corporations; and if you don’t do the same then you are not even selfish, you are just cattle.
Haven’t seen this mentioned yet: the RAM they are making for these AI chips are built to burn up after 6 years. The RAM is built into the processing units to reduce latency but the whole unit is designed with short planned obsolescence so burning out after 5-6 years is expected. The assumption is that by the time they burn up they you will replace them with a more energy efficient unit.

Classic abuser move. Take away two free days and then give us back one and makes sure we know it’s from him cuz he put his name all over it.

It often feels like violence.
I want you to know, as a parent I understand. I love my 3 year old but he is nonstop trying to get a rise out of us.
In recent years we have become increasingly familiar with the thought of death. We ourselves are surprised by the composure with which we accept the news of the death of our contemporaries. We can no longer hate Death so much; we have discovered something of kindness in his features and are almost reconciled to him.

Wow that’s some arrested development.

Maybe also throw in a “what would you do” staged events to specifically filter for people with empathy.

First event is a civics test.
Serving power certainly let’s a person do more, just don’t be surprised when people point out how it isn’t helping.
There were the government shutdowns but they always cave. Then there’s getting arrested while protesting (not breaking the law BTW, just straight up intimidation), which is honestly the bare minimum at this point. Look up Kat Abu for an example.

The guy literally does comedy tours. I guess I’ll just go ahead and buy those tickets…

While it is true he got concessions I would not go so far as to say it strengthens US hegemony. His acts undermine the idea that the US deals consistently with it’s allies and will encourage them to value their autonomy over current global norms.
I would not survive this but I am willing to sacrifice as tribute to break the cycle.
I don’t think people care about ideology as much as we are told. Just call it affordability.
