I think this would actually trigger real rioting and violence. And that would give the Trump the veneer of legality he needs for Republican support to enact martial law. And that would trigger more rioting and violence spreading beyond NY. It would be a catastrophically stupid move on Trump’s part. So probably by end of the month.
Balkanization first, I want to know if the Great plains will devolve into city states like I suspect. Also it’ll be easier to cement reforms without the fustercluck that is the feds being present.
So I’m mixed on this. For one, I know it’d be a horribly bad thing if they do do this. It’d be blatantly the wrong thing to do. However, I think we need something to push people over the edge to make them force real change. If the Trump adm. does this, that would have to be a step too far for almost everyone, right? It could actually put us on the path to fixing things.
Obviously, I don’t want them to do this, but I’m conflicted because I think it could lead us down a (very perilous) path to fix the nation.
Honestly, if ICE just showed up and kidnapped him off the street and “deported” him to some shithole country…what would anyone really do?
