Photos: Fresh batch of BTR townhomes delivers off Southwest TrailJosh GreenMon, 08/24/2026 - 14:23Metro Atlanta’s Build-to-Rent townhome trend is continuing at a large-scale industrial site redevelopment in Southwest Atlanta. A new community of 25 townhomes has delivered as the first phase of Woodrow House, a multifaceted infill project that will bring 325 homes to Oakland City overall, each with walkability to the Atlanta Beltline and a MARTA station.  According to Charleston-based developer Woodfield Development, the three-story offerings have three or four bedrooms, private garages, and outdoor living spaces that qualify as private. More townhomes and apartments are expected to come online at the 840 Woodrow St. SW project throughout the rest of 2026, with full delivery scheduled for later this year, Woodfield reps relayed today.  Patios and facades around the Woodrow House townhomes today. Courtesy of Woodfield DevelopmentCourtesy of Woodfield DevelopmentCurrent townhome rent prices start at $3,079 monthly, which gets three bedrooms and three bathrooms across 2,073 square feet.  The priciest options ($3,279 monthly) have an additional bedroom and bathroom in 1,910 square feet.According to Woodfield reps, Woodrow House plans call for 66 affordable and workforce units once the project is fully built, alongside more than 12,000 square feet of “neighborhood-serving” retail space along a future Beltline spur trail on Woodrow Street.  In addition to BTR townhomes and apartments, live-work residences are planned. The least expensive Woodrow House townhome floorplan (2,073 square feet) currently offered. Courtesy of Woodfield DevelopmentCourtesy of Woodfield DevelopmentRent limits will be based on 80 percent of the Area Median Income, and 5 percent of units will also be set aside for tenants using vouchers. Another aspect of the project will see subsidized commercial spaces for local entrepreneurs, officials have said. Public spaces at Woodrow House will include a retail plaza, a container court for startups and small businesses, and landscaped social areas with public art installations. Developers are also converting an older building on the property to function as the headquarters and workforce training facility for “a local coffee roaster committed to hiring within the surrounding community,” per a Woodfield announcement today. The $77-million, mixed-use venture is taking shape on 7 total acres of formerly industrial land a block from the Atlanta Beltline’s Southwest Trail (formerly Westside Trail), adjacent to the historic Murphy Crossing property. The Lee + White district is located a few blocks away on the Beltline. The project’s communal amenities will eventually include a pool with lounge area and grilling stations described as resort-style, a sky deck, a podcast studio, coworking space, a private conference room, plus a dog park and pet spa, among other perks. Developers say walking paths and pocket parks will be dotted around the site. The Woodrow House development team also includes Fortune Johnson (general contractor), Dynamik Design (architect), Krywicki Interior Design, and Kimley-Horn (civil engineering and landscape architecture).
