I’m not a fan of this rhetoric that “Facebook needs to moderate better”. The powerful social media giant is doing bad moderation and we just get on our knees and beg them to do better? These companies should have less power, not more. We need anti-trust, not better moderation.
In the third one Zuckerberg will be played by Willem DeFoe and he’ll have horns and a tail

For a second there I though this was a sequel to The Social Network, but I guess its not?
It’s a companion piece or spiritual sequel.
The first film, “The Social Network” was based on a book with the screenplay written by Aaron Sorkin, and directed by David Fincher.
This film, “The Social Reckoning” is written by Aaron Sorkin as well as being directed by Aaron Sorkin.
Can Aaron Sorkin write and direct a good film? Yes, he has in the past I would expect he has again.
I expect what makes this less of a sequel is the focus. The first film was focused on Mark Zuckerberg the person. This film seems to be more focused on Facebook the company and the people involved in the 2021 leak.. Don’t get me wrong, Jeremy Strong us going to play an excellent lizard person Mark Zuckerberg, but compared to the last film it’s going to be a big jump in character.
Aha, thank you for clarifying! I literally did not know that both movies were based on a series of novels. My bad 🙂
So technically this new film isn’t based on a book, but really that’s just a difference between “screenplay by” and “written by”. One of the central characters of the new film wrote a book and I’m confident Aaron Sorkin read that book, but it isn’t technically based on that book.
It’s a “companion piece.”
