@BallShapedMan it depends on if your comment is worthy of a reply or if it’s more of a statement. In the latter case, they’ll probably just favorite or boost instead of saying something useless like “okay cool”. Also, up until recently, mastodon required hashtags for search so most instances are still on that system. So for people to find your posts you need to litter them with hashtags, which I see you got the hang of.
Another thing, you don’t have anything in your bio and no profile pic. Fleshing out your bio will help people know that you’re not a bot and have similar interests as them.
