A man was arrested Thursday after an alleged drug deal at a troubled southwest Atlanta apartment complex escalated into a fatal shooting, an arrest warrant shows.

Jahnari Smith, 19, was fatally shot Jan. 9 at The Hills at Greenbriar apartment complex in southwest Atlanta. Michael Stephens, a man Smith met while in jail, was arrested Thursday, officials said.
