      Dude it’s been like that for a while.

      Ironically, Imgur was created by a redditor and gained its fame as the de facto image hosted for reddit for years before it tried to become its own social media site.

      Interesting, this opened on Imgur for you? I uploaded directly to Memmy, so as far as I can tell, the entire post is hosted in-app. Curious. Are you using an app? Or are you on desktop? (Or just using a mobile browser?).

      Because, yes, Imgur fuckin sucks. From what I understand they’re terrible about privacy now too. We’ve now been users long enough to watch it go from a great little image hosting site to apparently a tech corp.

        My app does embed your image, but opening in external or just looking at the host thingy on the Lemmy website shows that it is uploaded to Imgur. May be something Memmy does automatically?
