We also need to hold our politicians accountable for not acting up against Netanyahu.

Then why is no one calling out the congress responsible for it? Biden didn’t pass or fund this. He isn’t pushing back against it hard enough. But he’s not the one that passed it. Or threatened to campaign against him when he just delayed delivery. I don’t see anyone calling out mike Johnson.

The white house runs the state department and the white house press briefings and directs the UN delegation

Congress isn’t blameless but Biden holds a disproportionate amount of responsibility.

Never implied he wasn’t. Only implied that the obsessive focus on him is suspicious and short-sighted if someone actually wanted it to improve things in gaza. He is a small part of the equation and the problem. Mike Johnson has already said that he will do everything it takes to continue the genocide in Gaza. That he and his House of Representatives is aiding in supplying directly.

Congress did not force him to circumvent congress to sell Netanyahu weapons for genocide. Biden did that all by his lonesome, without his hands being tied in any way whatsoever. Biden’s administration does not have to abuse our veto at the UN to run interference for Netanyahu. And Joe Biden did not have to deny that a genocide is even happening in Gaza.

Congress didn’t force him to do any of that.

I never said he didn’t. I just said you all seem more focused at being mad at him than actually stopping it.

Biden said Iran is equally responsible as Russia for Ukrainian deaths because they supply the weapons. But now that logic doesn’t apply to Biden bypassing Congress and knowingly supplying weapons knowing they are being targeted on civilians?

Could he stop sending them weapons if he wanted? Obviously he’s fine with it, but if he weren’t, can the President alone actually stop something like that?

Even President Sanders wouldn’t have been able to stop the US government from being complicit, then. But at least he wouldn’t have supported it.

the bill to force his hand hasn’t gone any further than the House of Representatives. Schumer says he’s not gonna let it come to the senate floor for a vote. Who is forcing Biden to sell Netanyahu weapons?

Without American support there would be no Israel. They are a vassal state.

You are incredibly naive if you think “my red line is Rafah” is anything more than performance. There is no one being held by the balls; the American government is literally funding the genocide.

How is the performance supposed to benefit him? As soon as the “red line” is crossed and nothing happens, it makes him seem weak. Usually when being performative, you say something that has a plausible excuse when it doesn’t happen - or something that can’t be acted on until you’re elected. This was very poorly conceived, then.

The goal might be to seem weak. His campaign strategists are probably telling him that being weak will net him more democratic voters than not laying down a fake red line and seeming evil.

If Biden is so innoscent, don’t sign the supporting bills then, that’s a lot of money.
