That’s how these noodles are prepared, they’re run through cold water and served cold. The novelty here is it flows through a trough to you, instead of chilled out of sight and served.
Have you never tried cold noodles? One of my favorite dishes to make is to cook up some spaghetti, rinse it under cold water, and pour Italian dressing over top of it. It’s refreshing and filling.
Because there’s tons of hella tasty cold food out there. Just seems odd (not to mention, impractical in a lot of cases) to refuse to consume cold (by which I mean “not heated”) food. Like, do they also refuse to touch sandwiches? Salads? Crackers? Or for Indian fare (as they said they were in India): chutneys, chaat, koshimbir, dahi puri/papti/bhalla, or dhokla, just to name a handful?
Ah. I haven’t been there myself, and am actually mildly surprised to learn that it’s so difficult to find reasonably priced Japanese food there. Thank you for sharing!
For all everyone is defending them yes I’m sure many people like them. That said, I accidentally ordered cold udon in Japan and it was unpleasant. I like cold foods of some sorts, but cold udon was something I intend not to have in the future if I can

😰
No gazpacho for you!
Whew looks like I escaped Nancy Pelosi’s gazpacho police.

Nope. For some reason idea of food served cold is utterly unappealing to me.
Guys check it out this dude hates ice cream
Thebat does not like cold food. The fuck is the problem?

So? It like being invested in what somebody fucks. It’s shouldn’t be of you concern.
They don’t like cold food. The only reaction that should follow is “okay”.
Eh, that’s fair. I guess I’m just kinda surprised at the vehemence.
Ok now you’re trying just a little too hard to be contrarian
You’ve clearly never had good soba noodles, because they’re fucking delicious.
I haven’t. All Japanese restaurants where are I live are prohibitively expensive. Not all of us live in US.
Out of curiosity, may I ask what country you’re in?
India.
