Georgia election law imposes a hurdle for voters who are homeless

Thousands of voters who are homeless across Georgia will face a new hurdle to exercise their right to vote starting in January.

About 2,300 voters who are likely homeless pick up their mail at the Central Presbyterian Churchs Outreach and Advocacy Center across the street from the Georgia Capitol. Under a new state law, however, they will soon have to pick up their election-related mail 20 miles away at Fulton County’s Election Hub. (Arvin Temkar/AJC)
