We haven’t had the technology to fake a moon landing for decades now. Everyone who knew how to do it has retired.
KSP would beg to differ. Just ignore that it’s basically a cartoon equivalent.

This 100%. KSP stock is easy mode in terms of the lift you need to get to orbit. Not even accounting for the moon.
