I was reading through updates and comments. Some made my eyes leak a little. One of the updates had a mailing address.

just FYI, you may want to double check. From what I know Mangione’s legal team said they weren’t going to accept the funds, and in the fine print on the web site, in that situation, they will keep your donation, and use it for other cases they support, which included\includes people who comitted treason on J6, neo-nazi’s, and other right wing extremist causes.

If we would have money, there would be no need to donate more as we wouldn’t be living in a predatory capitalistic society

Money can’t buy exoneration when you are on camera and leave DNA evidence.

By assuming he is guilty you are robbing him of his right to presumption of innocence.

Yeah, I guess it was the other shooter that was captured on camera at the exact same time with the same evidence. And the shell casings. And the fingerprints. But yeah, jump on the neck beard bandwagon. I’m sure it was just a coincidence that he was carrying the gun which matches the shell casings?

Presumption of innocence as a concept goes back to at least the 6th century and is part of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

                Article 11

                1. Everyone charged with a penal offence has the right to be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law in a public trial at which he has had all the guarantees necessary for his defence.

Does he even need those donations? I’d think there are other causes who actually need this money.

I think at this point it’s more about what the case represents. I don’t know how exactly I want this to happen, but I do hope the results of his trial somehow creates positive changes in how insurance companies work.

Wishful thinking, but I think that’s the kind of feeling people have around this.
