They’ve removed the parts they don’t want from their site. They’ve taken out half of article 8, all of article 9, and all of article 10 on their site. While these articles still exist in the actual constitution, they are now officially pretending they don’t. This includes Habeas Corpus, amongst other things, including parts that could limit blue states rights to stand up economically for themselves.

Habeas Corpusthat’s mentioned there?Further context, since the other poster only gave a portion of it. Habeas Corpus is a check of the judiciary against the other branches of government. More than the right to a day in court, it is the right of courts to make the final determination on whether detention is lawful, and gives the judiciary the right to demand an individual’s jailer bring them to court for a hearing on that subject.
It’s a check against something like an arm of the government unlawfully performing snatch and grabs against citizens whose crimes are unclear. As you might imagine, it’s something it’s something of a hot topic round these parts lately.

I understood the Latin part, but it didn’t make sense and my best guess was something like “having the body” or maybe “owning the body” translates to something like “your right to your body is invulnerable and thus no one is allowed to hurt/kill/torture/… you”. But this interpretation didn’t make obvious sense to me (especially considering that the US still has a death sentence)
