It’s a wonderful show. They don’t do a lot of toxic mainstream stuff like “drop the soap” jokes etc. Bob is such a good man and Linda is so funny xD Also the kids of course.
Bob and Linda are the best marriage on TV.

It’s a pretty wholesome type show, I know I wasn’t expecting that when I first watched but it’s definitely grown on me. It’s like less Simpsons wholeness for current day. But also they don’t don’t get quite as awful in a family sense. Don’t get me wrong love Simpsoms (well may have to exclude certain seasons or least half seasons) but this show has its own feeling for animated family. It’s written so well.
We rewatched the first season recently, it was dirty. Especially the bed breakfast one.
I was pleased to see some of the dirtiness coming back in recent seasons.
I saw Loren say once that the basic premise of the show is that “Bob can’t win.” Like, that’s the rule. He has to lose, because that action is what endears us as an audience, but also creates a plyable space to inject the kind of schmaltz that the Simpsons used to be known for in its earliest seasons.
At the same time, Bob isn’t really losing either. It’s more like spinning his wheels in the mud.
Bob has a loving family and owns his own business (rising out of wage slavery), which sometimes doesn’t do super well but typically he makes ends meet. He already won
Even if he hasn’t won, he’s 7 steps in the right direction. I’d love to live above my own restaurant/business.
