The team that wins the throw in should have an advantage but is actually at a disadvantage in many cases as they have one less player to fight for the ball after the throw in. This constantly slows the game down.

    At one team I played we were super cynical two seasons in a row with one coach. If we ever felt like it was a risk to pass the ball we would just hit it out for a throw in as close as possible to the opponents corner flag. Our press was intense and it often was easier to create chances from their throw in then by our own (shitty passing). Those two seasons we conceded 16 and 10 goals in a 22 matches league. Throw ins for sure be a disadvantage, if close to own goal.
