He would go at referees like we’ve never seen before or after. So much that he got what he wanted, some of them never refereed manu again. At one team I played we were super cynical two seasons in a row with one coach. If we ever felt like it was a risk to pass the ball we would just hit it out for a throw in as close as possible to the opponents corner flag. Our press was intense and it often was easier to create chances from their throw in then by our own (shitty passing). Those two seasons we conceded 16 and 10 goals in a 22 matches league. Throw ins for sure be a disadvantage, if close to own goal.
