Does the rest of Europe and the world dislike international breaks as much as we do in England ?

I was having this discussion with friends and I think it directly correlates with the quality of the league of your country.

For example Spain England Germany will dislike them as they would prefer to see their clubs playing , but for Croatia their national team is better than their club teams so they enjoy it.

I could be totally wrong so please let me know !

    Dutchman here.

People go crazy over the national team. Most football supporters, aside from ultras who live for their clubs, are also supporters of the national team. For the average Dutch football team the question “who would you rather win a price, Oranje or [implement favourite club]” is legitimately a hard question.

I miss Liverpool during international breaks, but I always love watching Oranje. It unites everybody I know, regardless of club, and brings even rival fans together. We watch Oranje with the entire family.

I am actually curious why the English, despite living in such a massive football country, are so indifferent to their national team?

English fans tend me be disinterested not in our team, but in the perceived quality of opponents

I don’t remember many people complaining when England played Italy last break, it’s much more vocal when we have to play minnows like San Marino
