What is the best Goal you’ve seen scored by a bang average footballer?

Some footballers can only be described as ok but they do score some worldies on occasion. Think JordanAyew vs West Ham. Think Pajtim Kasami vs Palace. Think anytime Matt Taylor saw a ball dropping by the halfway line. Give me your best

He scored 13 goals in 13 starts for Newcastle that season and was a big part of why they finished 5th.

He continue scoring goals in a mediocre side for several years afterwards

He might not have been great by Chelsea’s lofty standards but he was hardly “bang average”…

After that initial season he was the definition of a bang average striker in the premier league, or even downright poor. The following season he scored 8 in 36 games in the league, season after that he scored 2 in 24. Then in 14/15 he scored 11 in 22 which is good but then the season after he scored 2 in 22 which is awful. You’re looking at him with rose tinted glasses if you call him anything other than bang average.

He (alongside Demba Ba) was probably the best striker we had in the premier league between Alan Shearer and Callum Wilson (other candidates - Carroll, Toney, Mitrovic - weren’t with us long enough or went on to much greater success after leaving)

I don’t think it’s rose-tinted glasses to say that he was a good striker in a shite team.

As a Newcastle fan since the 80s, believe me when I say I have no rose-tinted memories of the period of Ashley’s ownership

            Ba was definitely better.

Cisse just had the purple patch of all purple patches that season.

Ba was better. Cisse class first half season but forgot the offside rule there on after

Cisse wasn’t bang average, haaland couldn’t score goals under Steve mcclaren. A bang average striker is carlton Cole or francis jeffers, cisse was never bang average

Scoring twice in 20+ games is beyond shit regardless of manager. He did it two season as well btw. Give it a rest. He was average.

The banana shot goal is legendary. So legendary that we always overlook the first one he scored, which was very similar to Henry’s volley vs United
