Seen both Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher criticising Alisson for being clearly fouled during the game saying he needs to do better, both amongst others said the same about Gabriel when Joelinton pushed him into the goal with both hands. What is with the victim blaming from pundits, can’t exactly do much when someone fouls you

Tbf we have no real reason listening to them, except them being attached to Sky which provides coverage for us. I haven’t watched them in a year now and I genuinely feel less stupid, at least when it comes to understanding football!

Yes, they were proper players, but being a player doesn’t mean you’re a brilliant analyst of the game, you may be one but there is no real corelation. Neville tried to be a coach, failed so bad at it. They still cry about keepers playing it short or inviting press, whilst almost every top coach and modern day champion uses it and wins big doing so. They cry at every new signing and tactic that Fergie or Benitez didn’t utilize 20 years ago. They’re just like 'member berries from South Park, no original idea, only stupid narrative and tribalism. There are some really top level game re-watch channels ran by young lads that do what I have never seen these pundits do. Observe, break down objectively and make sense instead of talking bs about “tis all about mentality” or “no leaders” whenever a team loses.

You’re absolutely right, I’ve been watching tifoIRL on YouTube and I wonder why pundits never break down matches anywhere near that level of quality? They spent years playing the game at the highest level, surely this is like bread and butter levels of basic to them?

Because the average fan doesn’t want a deep understanding of tactics. HEATED arguments and controversial takes are what gets views.

I have a hunch things are going to change for the better and these ex player clowns can’t stop it. I’m looking at my own club’s up and coming fan channels and podcasts that are becoming instant hits, and they’re far from what boring tribalist bs we are used to. Sky and other broadcasters will have to catch up or keep losing fans to fan-made media. There’ll also be a big competition for broadcasting services itself and that’ll be another way to either force existing channels to change in order to stay on top or newer services to innovate in order to steal a chunk of theirs.

Football has changed a lot, it’s hardly easily digestible as it was when I started watching it late 80s with players on a grand a week coming up drunk to have a kick about. There’ll be no country for old clowns.
