We are languishing in 10th, 8 points behind ‘struggling’ Man United. Defense is leaking goals, attack is largely misfiring and players are losing discipline.

The mentality has also become like that of a mid-table team. Nothing in and around the club screams world class at the moment.

I just don’t find many differences between Chelsea and say, Crystal Palace (apart from the wages and all). As fans, should we also have a mid-table mindset? Satisfied with draws against the big boys and finishing the season with 45-50 points?

Firmly. They have 16 points from a possible 39, and look who’ve they’ve beaten - Luton, Fulham, and Burnley. Yes they beat Spurs who completely imploded, and pulled off dogged draws against Liverpool, Arsenal, and City, but those look like outliers compared to their other performances.

So much criticism has been launched at United who are 8 points clear of Chelsea, but United are playing in the CL, they aren’t doing well in that competition but they’ve had a similarly horrible injury crisis to navigate as Chelsea while playing mid week and are in a respectable position.

I’m stunned that Chelsea, having finished 12th last season, squandered their soft opening schedule. Obviously we still have a little over 2/3 of the season left but do Chelsea look like they can overcome a now 12 point gap between them and Villa? There might be 5 CL spots this season but I don’t see Chelsea challenging for one.

Lets get something straight, we where the better team against liverpool and arsenal.

Tottenham was pretty dominant first 17 min, but between 17 and 37 chelsea where dominating 11-11.

As for quality of play chelsea are 3rd in possession, 2nd in big chances created, 4-6th in xg-points.

There has been more outliers against in terms of results then for chelsea.

Only teams that created more quality chances then chelsea was brentford and newcastle (that includes 5 preason games)

Chelseas issue is mentality and clinicality, same arsenal been suffering from over a decade (and the main reason I see liverpool like a more likly titlecandidate then arsenal.

That beeing said, chelsea is a good example why to much change aint good for you.

If they ran the takeover properly (sporting people in before 400m spent) and do change over 3 years instead of 18 months.
