Exactly. Natural gas is transported as a liquid, at temperatures of roughly -160 degrees Celsius or -260 degrees Fahrenheit. It takes a pretty serious refrigeration system to maintain those temperatures on a tanker.
In 2023 there were 772 LNG carriers in the world. Most of them will obviously not run Russian LNG, so this actually hurts.
You shouldn’t have ignored that no smoking sign, Vadim.
So… What’s the environmental impact of that?
Probably not far off from burning the LNG at its intended destination.
