Surely it would place a massive asterisk on all the trophies won during his time at Man City? In future discussions on the greatest manager would this be a talking point which stains our perception on him? Or will he still be lauded as the greatest by some despite the wider context?

Support whoever you like. And take what comes with it. City’s legacy is like a double hit of PSG’s money buying the league and the cheating going on at the Italian clubs Juve/Inter/Milan. Tainted in multiple ways. And you get brushed with a teensy tiny part of that for accepting it and defending them, because you do have a choice.
