Surely it would place a massive asterisk on all the trophies won during his time at Man City? In future discussions on the greatest manager would this be a talking point which stains our perception on him? Or will he still be lauded as the greatest by some despite the wider context?
Call me bitter or old school but I don’t give credit to City as a club for any of their success.
Sure I give the players and Pep credit as they are undeniably brilliant. And I can’t fault the fans who don’t make the decisions.
But as an institution they are an oil club who spent a shit tonne of money to directly influence winning trophies, it ain’t that impressive
