Also not that I am concerned for russia’s strength here but russia going to war with Ukraine and refusing to back down even after devastating losses sealed the fate of this design lineage of aircraft.

The Su-57 was never the future of manned air dominance fighter design, the capabilities it focuses on were from the outset poorly optimized for the actual challenges of sophisticated near pear air warfare faced nowadays.

The Su-57 could have had a future in influencing future unmanned designs, and it likely will but that future will be limited and weak precisely because russia refused to back down from their illegal invasion of and war with Ukraine.
