Party leaders said a motion to oust the 35-year-old will be debated on Thursday and go to a vote on Friday.
I honestly think this guy is fucking hilarious.
Like, what an amazing asshole, to just be such a blatant fraud, and then basically just give the whole country the finger, and then put a suit and tie on every day and.not mention it.
It’s truly a marvel.
Edit: I bet his glasses don’t have lenses, you know?
He’s a symptom of a party that has no morals or moral fortitude Santos could rape a baby on the house floor and gates would be like “he’s just doing what Biden is thinking”.
The GOP has the power to end this. They just don’t care, really.
Politicians used to resign over minor scandals that had nothing to do with their behavior on the job. Hell, just over 20 years ago, that party raised hell and impeached the sitting president over a blowie.
Now they cover and encourage for blatant corruption, theft, incitement of violence, etc. Openly and proudly.
And their fucking base applauds them for it.
I know “the world is going to shit” is a time honored tradition for those getting old, but shit man, this seems different.
The crazy part is how many other people do this day in and day out and we never know because they aren’t hounded by the press

People in New Jersey knew, not the exact details but, we knew.
I think it’s less the press’s fault and more a side effect of how absolutely clear George Santos’ corruption is.
On some level I wonder if he has some kind of undiagnosed mental health issue and can’t wrap his head around reality, and then is driven by a lying compulsion disorder. His level of lying about just about everything (and sometimes contradictory lies about the same thing), for no apparent reason, just seems to be compulsive at this point. And like Trump with his crime compulsion, getting into politics is shining a giant spotlight on him that anyone that could do critical thinking would see would lead them being caught/called out/held accountable.
There’s a concept in politics called the gish-gallop. Also called firehose of lies. It’s a time honored tradition, but in the past it was usually multiple people spewing crazy shit until they got called out too hard, at which point they’d quiet down and someone else would rotate in to take the heat.
With the way congressional districts are drawn, and now that they’ve seen Trump successfully accomplish this as a single person, to me the simplest explanation becomes that these liars lie because they know there won’t be any immediate consequences, and that the more they can squeeze out, the less likely any given piece of it will be addressed.
It’s called being a Republican… there’s no cure.
Right? Just blatant, “You’ll have to drag me out, kicking and screaming” energy. Til then, he’ll just keep doing whatever he wants.
They’re probably gonna make a tv series about this whole situation. I’d watch a show about a guy who bumbled his way to the Senate.

Conagra (who own popcorn giant Orville Redenbacher) stock is up 2.8% in the past month. Coincidence? 🍿🍿🍿
The speech he made on the floor kinda made sense…
I think this guy is a criminal, who will get convicted, should probably just resign, and will eventually get kicked out, but all of the people who have been removed from Congress previously had convictions.
It, imo is a dangerous precedent to set to start removing people without full-due process.
That said ,I’m not really following his stuff they closely so maybe he’s had some level of due process within Congress that would warrant expulsion.
Most people who have been charged with that many crimes have resigned before before it got to having them expelled.
Haha I know. The Republicans are really exposing how much of our system is run on, precedence, and expectation ofgood faith.
We really ought to put measures in place that are defined and have teeth. But I think in this case the measure would likely revolve around a conviction.
Would be hilarious if he tossed the Mike Johnson from the speakership to stay in office.
Finally, the Smiths and Rodger will be reunited after this seasons cliffhanger. But will Rodger be thrown in prison as well?

🎶Good morning USA🎶
🎵I have a feeling it’s going to be a wonderful day🎵
I actually wonder what is worse: That he did the things he did, that he didn’t leave on his own after being found out, or that they failed to kick him out not only on the first, but also on the second attempt.
This is the best summary I could come up with:
Among the many allegations in its final report, the panel accused him of spending campaign money on Botox treatments, OnlyFans purchases and vacations in the Hamptons.
He is currently facing 23 federal felony charges, including wire fraud, money laundering and theft of public funds, as well as separate allegations of campaign finance violations.
The Democratic measure is an “insurance policy” intended to force a vote if Republicans do not bring up their own resolution this week, its co-author Robert Garcia told Axios.
Several members, who previously voted down expulsion until the House ethics panel completed its work, told US media they are reversing their positions and now support Mr Santos’ removal.
He added that he would introduce his own expulsion motion against Jamaal Bowman, a Democratic colleague accused of pulling a fire alarm to sabotage a vote.
Mr Bowman, who paid a $1,000 fine over the incident, shot back with a statement railing against “another meaningless stunt in his long history of cons, antics, and outright fraud”.
The original article contains 675 words, the summary contains 167 words. Saved 75%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!
this is a great example of creeping normality
I wanna see him spill details on other members.
