  • that’s despite neither of them being able to keep a single clean sheet this season which shows it’s obviously hampering the team.

While this is possible, we can’t make this conclusion. There’s other factors at play. For example, I’m pretty sure they haven’t won since Estupinan got injured.

Usually a consistent back line helps a team, but we can’t say this is obviously hampering them.

The media have had their pants in a twist all season over the situation with Ramsdale and Raya, despite there not being a situation at all, Raya is clearly number one and Ramsdale, well, isn’t

So why has this been made such a big deal out of when Brighton quite literally have and use two number 1 goalkeepers to their detriment and no one has said a word?

I think it’s because that was initially what was thought, Arteta’s quotes early on, people overrating Ramsdale so it’s newsworthy, Arsenal being a bigger club with more fans, Ramsdale in the England team.

  • I was thinking about this for awhile, and was wondering if anyone else felt that people are hesitant to award Premier League players with the credit they deserve?

    Maybe.

Like your Henry example, how did Beckham not win it for the treble winning season?

Am I crazy or was Haaland not winning the Ballon D’or really disrespectful towards the Premier League?

He set the goals record, and won the treble.

Yes it was. They put too much weight on an international competition.

I just don’t take it seriously. It’s a popularity contest or whatever, not actually who was the best player. They gave it to Messi because it’s Messi and he won the WC, not because he was the best player in the year.

  • If it wasn’t, we would have been hit with a points deduction.

The case in ongoing, so no, you wouldn’t have.

Notice how all of your favorite pundits haven’t brought up those charges in a while. Probably because they know it’s all bs.

If we ignore the ridiculous ‘favourite’ part.

They brought it up when it first happened. Nothing of note has happened yet, so why would they keep bringing it up?

And in the UK people tread carefully around things that are alleged because they don’t want to get in trouble. You have to say alleged, but usually people just steer clear of it. So what exactly do you expect them to keep saying? Talking about it just opens them up to issues. Why not wait until a result?

It’s crazy that instead of thinking why people might not go on live TV in the UK and talk about alleged things all the time when there’s been no updates about it, you just assume it’s because it’s bullshit.

  • I’m English, but I still have some input that I don’t see talked about.

Having international breaks so frequently actually lowers the standard of both the national teams and the club teams.

Everyone should care about this, but a lot don’t actually know about it.

    And then more common ones:

It’s also annoying as a fan because the quality of international football isn’t great. Depending on what league you watch this might be different.

And one that’s more personal for me is I don’t really care about nations.
