  • Might see a huge opportunity for Saudi League to get graps of some of them.

We did see with Juventus, when they were relegated that the likes of Buffon, Nedved, Del Piero etc. stayed, but for most of those players and the fact that times were simply different back then, I believe they had a bond and connection with the club, that is much stronger than the players of Man City and in general with players and clubs in todays football.

That said there are definitly some contractual rules that allows players to leave if their club gets relegated for out-field violations. There simply has to be. I can’t imagine anything else.

  • I believe the asian market plays a rather huge part. I have been to Asia a couple of times and Liverpool is a huge brand in Asia. That’s not to say that Man United and Arsenal also aren’t huge brands in Asia. But that would be my overall guess, that prime time in Asia plays a huge part.

So to cut it short: I think it’s because of TV-revenue, especially in prime time in Asia and Liverpool are also huge in the southern hemisphere, where it’s almost nightime around 12:30 UK time.
