The future is even more bleak. Touch screens only, no desktops. Only tablets everywhere. Everything on the cloud, everything locked down. Sideloading is banned, jailbreaking illegal. Everything runs on iOS or Android. Gen A will love it
Sure, for women, but having lots of sexual partners is idolized for men
Most SteamOS users aren’t interacting with a bash shell or anything though, they’re just running steam in big picture. If it’s valid to say that SteamOS introduced people to Linux because the kernel happens to be Linux, then it’s equally valid to say that about Android, which has had a much larger impact than SteamOS has
Nothing wrong with it, but I don’t think we should idolize it. If some people choose that kind of life, they should be free to. I don’t think it should be encouraged though
Yes but I don’t know if there’s anyone out there who would install SteamOS on their desktop, vs just using it on steam deck. I know people in this sub certainly would, but I don’t think normies would go out of their way to do so without official buy-in from Valve, and they got out of the steam machine business
Promiscuity
Lol, obviously it’s terrible that business are pulling out of the US, and in the next few months we will begin to learn what the 1970s were like, but I’m just glad I already have mine
Good thing I got mine already!
Even with SMS, idk why people expect an immediate response. My dad texts me and if I don’t respond in an hour, he starts spamming me. I don’t think there is a single piece of technology out there where people should expect the recipient to be constantly reachable.
I don’t know why people think this is true. Just because you message me on slack doesn’t mean I’m going to see or respond to it immediately.
How many times has Lindsey Graham flip-flopped on hating trump? It’s like every other week
13 years ago was 2012, when a good many people were convinced the world was going to end according to the Mayan Calendar. Things aren’t going very well in America right now
Thailand felt very foreign, but at the same time there would randomly be things that felt very American to me there.
No because docker is not actually a VM
Docker is not a virtual machine, it’s a fancy wrapper around chroot
You pick up languages much more easily when you live somewhere
Thailand is my backup
During covid, having like 2 months’ worth of food was enough for me. I was able to avoid the chaos at the grocery stores, and by May of 2020, instacart had cleared up enough that I could get food delivered to me.
This is different, obviously, but having 2 months of food to avoid the initial chaos and supply shocks of a disaster is still valuable
If he destroys the DoE, tuition rates will fall because there’s no more student loans and universities will have to compete on price
