I’ve still never got round to watching Jack of All Trades, although back in the day I did catch some episodes of its “stablemate” Cleopatra 2525.

I did finally see Brisco a few years ago, such a shame it was cut short. Apparently it was during a moral panic about violence on TV, and the campaign group picked an episode of Brisco featuring a boxing match, and they counted every single punch as another incidence of violence, giving a total that made it seem like it was a Blumhouse slasher.

On Fawesome, I haven’t seen any ads yet. On the Roku Channel, maybe 2 or 3 short ad breaks per hour.

I don’t know where you are, but in Mexico at least it’s available, for free, on Fawesome and the Roku Channel, too.

Checking out Troma’s YouTube channel reminded me of Troma’s Basement: a comic segment introducing a Troma film on the Bravo cable channel in the UK (different from the Bravo channel in the US IIRC) in the mid 90s. About as good as you can expect for a near-zero-budget mid-90s UK cable TV framing device.

First time I saw the comic duo of Xander Armstrong and Ben Miller.

Ah, practising the deeply held moral principle of “I’m alright, Jack”.

We’ve enjoyed it. The second season story arc about a charismatic figure who latches onto white supremacy politics as his latest grift is a little close to the bone in the current climate.

(And I personally had a little fun spotting posters for Canadian punk bands like D.O.A. and No Means No in the background, as it was one of those of Stephen J. Cannell shows among the first wave of US productions shot in Vancouver.)

It’s available for free streaming on a few channels but unfortunately, the whole story arc about the record company is just cut entirely as, like a lot of shows from the 80s, they couldn’t license the music rights.

Recently watched Wiseguy for the first time, where they were paired up as creepy brother and sister, must have been only a few months before this was shot.

As a kid I used to love and watch over and over again two other Pryor/Wilder movies, Silver Streak and especially Stir Crazy (we didn’t have much on VHS back then).

But by the time this came out, I wasn’t very interested and have still never seen it. I should but so many other movies are higher up on my watch list.
