  • Zero chance it’s us imo, he burnt a lot of bridges here with the way he left us last time and we’re also completely skint. Maybe could have asked about a loan but assume we’d know Arsenal would want some/all of his wages covering and no way we could afford them. Considering relegation looks nailed on doubt we’ll be pushing the boat out much in January either

Foderinghams not been too bad this season aswell. He’s made a few mistakes but he’s kept the score down in a fair few games and made a lot of good saves. A lot of that is probably just down to us allowing opposition teams about 4000 shots on target per game, though

  • It’s infuriating. People always whinge about a “lack of loyalty” when clubs lower the down table sack managers who’ve done well (see the rage over O’Neill in the summer), yet whenever one these clubs hits a poor run of form everyone is so desperate for them to instantly be sacked. It’s always outsiders/fans of bigger clubs that are the loudest about it as well.

I don’t think Heckingbottom is getting the best out of this group, I’m extremely annoyed with some of our performances, and if the right man became available I wouldn’t be averse to making the change, but we’ve had this talk around his job since about 4 games into the season ffs. Our expectations were non existent anyway, a change in manager isn’t going to do anything short term

  • we’re going down, we don’t have enough quality going forward and we concede way too many chances to sustainably get results. the gulf between us and even just the Fulhams, Palaces, Evertons etc is massive. Our only hope is if Burnley, Luton and Bournemouth continue at the rate they are and something like 25 points is enough to stay up. If any of those properly turn a corner then we’re doomed

having said that though we’re also probably somewhat unlucky to only have 5 pts so far, 8-0 vs Newcastle and 5-0 vs Arsenal aside we’ve atleast been fairly competitive in most games (especially at home) and have fallen victim to a lot of late goals. we’re a bit crap but we’re not going to break unwanted records or anything

We’ve also not been helped by a fucking abhorrent injury list (something like 12 first team players out at its peak). This was especially prevalent in our first 2/3 games where we could genuinely barely even field a team and had u18s coming off the bench. This situation wasn’t helped by us selling Ndiaye and Berge the week before the season started and taking way too long to get players in

Jack Robinson has been our best player by a country mile so far with Foderingham, McBurnie, Baldock and Hamer behind him. Trusty has improved us defensively since he’s come into the team too. Archers been ok and definitely has something about him but often looks totally isolated in games (granted not really his fault)
