Results may vary if youāre not trans, but estrogen and spiro unlocked a lifetime of tears.
Itās actually kinda scary, how much T blocked it for me. Went from years not crying to basically crying on a weekly basis
Yeah and then when youāre done you can move on with your life instead of stewing over it forever?
as a friend once said, life needs both sunshine and rain alike, it canāt do with only either. (they went on to say that thatās why we have two kidneys, one for each emotion. idk what to think of that). anyways, if you unlock emotions, you have to unlock all of them i think, not just the ājoyā ones.
Dissociation is bitch, aināt it?
edit: word
*Dissociation
actually thatās not my experience at all. dissociation probably saved me from a whole lot of crap.
It can be helpful, but not when trying to work through mental issues that you can no longer ignore.

So the cure for onion tears was trauma all along. My therapist knows nothing of the culinary arts.

Welcome to depression. I havent cried in about 10 years

That awful feeling when all you want to do is let the tears out but you just canāt.
It sounds strange that I have to be in the right place and with the right company (or lack thereof) to be able to let the tears fall, but I do. It depends in the kind of tears that are trying to flow though. If itās tears from my CPTSD the company and place matters a massive amount.
Sometimes music can help
āCemetery Gatesā by Pantera is often one that my brain craves when I need to let tears fall. It also helps if the music is loud and hard enough I feel it in my chest. āLonely Dayā by System of A Down is another one.
Sometimes I can let them fall by reminding myself that Iām safe where Iām at and that Iām far (in time and pace) from the traumatic shit.
Sometimes itās tears in the shower until the water runs cold.
One of the biggest things that helped me though in actually letting them fall was getting quitting drinking.
Iāve been sober now for 7 years.
Itās the longest Iāve ever been sober.
Great comment, I just want to also suggest another song by System of a Down - āSoldier Sideā. this one really makes my mind focus on itself and open up
Iām pretty sure thatās one result of depression
Antidepressants did this to me. I had been on them since I was twelve, weened myself off them at 33. My emotional center has been gradually waking up ever since. Being able to cry when I need to is such a blessing.
you werenāt able to cry on antidepressants? Iāve maxed out the dosage on one antidepressant before switching to another and Iāve always been able to cry
Iām mostly unable to cry on sertraline. It actually really fucked me up when I was trying to mourn the loss of a friend and couldnāt. I finally cried once after I had an ulcerative colitis incident involving shitting myself in my car after what had otherwise been a really amazing day, I think it took that full spectrum drop in mood to allow it to happen.
I think what happened to me had a lot to do with the age at which I started taking them. We now know that antidepressants shouldnāt be prescribed to brains that havenāt finished developing. So in most cases anyone under the age of 26.
Introducing antidepressants to the brain of a traumatized 12 year old basically neutered my emotional center and made me asexual. They also acted as puberty blockers as I didnāt hit puberty until I was 17 and it happened when they switched my meds. I grew 16 inches in a year.
Giving antidepressants to a kid is child
abuse.
The person who downvoted me can fuck off forever
Two years now and itās awful. Crying is good, I want to cry damnit! At least, your comment reassured me that they will come back
When you meet that person, and feel them crying, reach out and let them know that itās okay to cryāeven if you donāt understand why theyāre sad. Encourage them to feel and express their emotions.
For me itās Gone Away by The Offspring or 3 a.m. by Matchbox 20 that can always bring the tears out.
thatās because you need someone else to listen to your crying, otherwise thereās no point in making any noise ⦠and listening means understanding here, so thatās what youād have to find first.
I donāt think so. There were movies/series which made me cry and that was very soothing. I never start to cry from emotions.
How would one understand crying?
So do all who see such times. But that is not for us to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.
Always works for me: Watch a few movies, even if itās not suposed to be super emotional, thereās bound to be some tear jerkin in there.
In fact, I usually cry with movies that are the polar opposite.
Yes, that works. But that is a different thing. Although Iāve thought about this workaround since it would still give the relieve
But itās weird when it never happens because of emotions
