‘We will be notifying your family where to collect your remains, because we will kill you, graveyard dead,’ the sheriff eerily warned Thursday

A Florida sheriff issued a stark message to protesters planning to demonstrate this weekend against increasing ICE arrests nationwide.

Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey warned in a press conference Thursday that if any protesters “throw a brick, a firebomb, or point a gun,” they will be killed.

Protests against the Trump administration’s ongoing immigration crackdown have been popping up across the nation after they first erupted in Los Angeles on Friday.

They are expected to continue through the weekend, in alignment with the president’s birthday parade.

Isn’t “dead” a little extra? I’ve never heard someone say “I’m going to kill you alive.”

Sounds like a scared scared sheriff that realizes the person standing in the open unable to move is an expendable collateral target by definition.

A fireworks vendor with early stock could make a fortune.

So did the Brevard County sheriff’s department murder anyone today? Or beat them brutally? Or otherwise dispense unjustified violence?

I’m not endorsing this but I have to say the title is a bit click baity. This is what he actually says.

“If you throw a brick, a firebomb, or point a gun at one of our deputies, we will be notifying your family where to collect your remains, because we will kill you, graveyard dead."

He didnt say they were about to start shooting people for regular protests.

Yeah I don’t think so either. I’m just pointing out that they omitted portions of what he said to get more clicks

With how cops are, it’s tantamount to the same thing – it’s tacit approval for them to straight up murder protesters regardless of provocation. They can always make that shit up later and get off without consequences.

This guy is basically waxing poetic about his hopes and dreams to violently brutalize the communities hes supposed to protect, and I guaranfuckingtee you, given the polices penchant for escalation peaceful interaction into violent hysteria, that it wont take firebombs, bricks, or anything else for them to start killing people.

All it’ll take is one hurt feefee. Which is pretty much all it ever takes for cops to start brutalizing and killing the innocent.

      There was more actually.

But what it comes down to is “Uhhh… It looked like he was throwing a brick. And that one, let’s see… Yeah she looked like she had a gun. The kid? Yeah let’s go with gun again.”

Do you really condone murder over free speech or minor vandalism or self defense? Do you support a police force that skips due process and goes right to murder? Do you support a police force instilling terror to “keep people in line”?Given the situation in LA, and so many more examples of protesting, do you really think they won’t be instigating or faking escalation to murder people.

That’s not a law and order speech, that’s a “meal team 6”, “itchy trigger finger”, looking for an excuse to murder someone. In any sane society, he would have been immediately relieved of duty, and facing charges.

And yes, any murders committed by that police force during upcoming protests should be considered premeditated, and premeditated murder not be protected by qualified immunity

The first sentence specifically said they didn’t. The title was cherry picked to be inflammatory and the truth was plenty inflammatory enough. That’s all i got out of it.
