If the story being reported is true it sounds like he was an apolitical kid raised in maga who began seeing the wrongs of maga and leaning antifascist. If so it’s likely that maga primed him to do violence but antifascism gave him the trigger and the target.
That tracks given how basically every major political shooter or mass shooter with any background on the left also had a right wing background, with the arguable on every point exception of Luigi (may not have done it, may not be considered left, his ties to the right can be questioned)

I didn’t come from a maga family but they became maga. Now they don’t talk to me. It’s been ugly and awful. Very common for children to hold polar opposite views from their parents. I don’t think it means anything relevant here.

If anything, THIS is how we get a civil war. MAGA kills their own, MAGA blames the wrong people, more political violence from MAGA feeling wronged, the left die and MAGA will say it’s their fault.
It was always going to be that way. MAGA use <bullshit justification> to kill <group>. Roll the die to fill in the blanks.
Lets just hope that the majority of MAGA-lite loses interest in killing people once they see the results of their own family and friends getting murdered.

I had a feeling when it turned out his parents turned him in. They said he admitted to it, but then also said he just complained about Kirk. Something felt off. $20 bucks says he used his parents’ gun, and they noticed it was gone, and now they’re covering their ass.

Stop. Calling. It. Assassination. Kirk was a pundit, a showman. He was not an official representative of an institute of authority. In no other context do people who are murdered get referred to as assassinated. It artificially elevates his importance and by repeating the term we are perpetuating the misinformation.
Technically so did I. We are not our parents’ crimes.
I think the reason people are reporting one this is that they are glad he’s not part of a minority group or political affiliation that the blame could be put upon.
If it were democratic, foreign, LGBTQ or other there would’ve been instant demonization. It even started before the alleged perp was even apprehended.
