All in the title. In discussion with a few friends, I mentioned that I was rooting for Liverpool in '05 in the CL final against AC Milan, and people were surprised… it seems this is not as common as I thought.

So, what’s your attidute towards your clubs’ local rivals when they are in continental competitions?

Mostly no, though for the likes of Villa and Wolves I will. It depends on the club. I did really love Poch’s Spurs and seeing Kane score at the Bernabeu for example

Liverpool, both Manc clubs, Chelsea, Arsenal, WHU, Newcastle, Brighton absolutely not

I will ALWAYS want Chelsea, Spurs and United to lose. Always, no matter the competition. Man City I’m a bit more ambivalent to, but I will say I object to them winning on a moral standpoint. But any other English club I’ll always support in Europe

Not a prem fan but if Dortmund were in Europa League then I’m 100% rooting against them as a Bayern fan.

Hell no, it was absolute hell when city, liverpool and chelsea won their respective champions league titles. I would want teams like west ham and aston villa to do well in europe tho

I’m a QPR fan so I’m not linked to a big club. So I do tend to support english teams in europe yes because the last time QPR were in europe was 40 years ago haha. The one exception to this may be Chelsea. If they’re against another english team, I hope they lose. The 2021 UCL final was sad to watch for this reason. If Chelsea are against a spanish team or whatever, I kind of lean to chelsea. I know its disgusting but I want to see the likes of Sterling, Gallagher, James, Colwil, Chilwell and Palmer doing well at club level because it only helps england.

West Ham? Yes. A few other teams that aren’t title rivals or rivals in any form, yes. Manchester United? No. Chelsea? No. Liverpool? No.

As long as it’s not Manchester(united or city), tottenham, arsenal, or Chelsea i’m going to pull for them. Really just forest, west ham, Aston villa, and Liverpool.

Supporting the English teams in Europe is an old fashioned idea. I think people used to do do that cos English teams were all full of English players. Now a days we all want our prem rivals to lose in Europe (mainly cos we don’t want to have to play each other). Although saying that I was routing for West Ham in their final last year
