At his best. I don’t think that’s much of a stretch. We don’t get his best consistently. And he’s got other issues. But he’s very strong, Positionally quite smart. Not bad on the ball, and excellent at defensive headers. I think most teams in the league improve with him.

What do you want Burnley to do? They built a team to hold possession and dominate the ball, but it’s not good enough for the prem. They’d be better off getting relegated again then building back up slightly stronger. No point in trying to park the bus with a bunch of possession style players.

It is, but then la liga is the only league that has a claim and they’re also in a huge mess right now. Italian league is improving a lot, but as of recently, it’s heights have yet to be close to the heights of the other top leagues. And the French and Bundesliga are on a decade straight of a single winner so nobody cares. Even during City’s dominance we’ve still had Liverpool win the league, Chelsea and Liverpool win the UCL.

No, that’s not how much it costs to do, that’s how much the prem would be charged to do it. Fifa or the FA could absolutely work towards making a FAR more affordable option but that wouldn’t be good business would it?

The biggest problem for me is that if we’re doing VAR for offsides then they need to have like a 5cm rule. As the amount of movement typically possible between frames is 5cm. And so that’s as precise as we can reasonably be. If someone is less than 5cm offsides then we don’t know if they were actually offisides or not. Especially in cases where the player was sprinting into space. Like the Garnacho goal ruled out earlier this season, it’s impossible to know if he was off. It was way too tight, goal was ruled on by on field officials then ruled off by a margin of error that we can’t even accurately measure. This also makes it so that we don’t have to wait as long for tight calls. And if it’s close on that 5cm region, just go with on field decision. It will never be perfect but looking to rule out goals all the time by over analyzing every little thing for 5 minutes is dumb.

No. We need to have a hard stance on this. He either finds a club that’ll pay or he sits in the reserves. We keep doing this. We keep using the same excuses. There needs to be a point where we take the hit and stop other clubs from taking advantage of us. We need to start rebuilding our reputation on the market.
