Depends on the injury. A fully ruptured ACL is easy to diagnose and give a timescale on (essentially - out for the season). Most more minor injuries are much harder to timescale, and often need repeated scanning to see the rate of improvement.
Also (I might be wrong in this) in England the manager tends to give updates on injuries when he doesn’t really understand the full picture, whereas in other countries it’s a medical professional - at least that is something Conte complained about while at Spurs.
I think it might be interesting if we see things get better over the season, and the presence of a show like this might help drive improvements. The VAR audio for the Newcastle goal at Arsenal was already much less chaotic than the one at Liverpool (although can still improve).
It would be great if we weren’t talking about VAR so much that a half hour show was even considered though.
I think Rashford regardless of form offers something different to Sterling, and with Kane playing a deepish role it is good to have a player with good finishing ability who can run beyond him.
Also, he did play well in the last round of international fixtures and in particular seems to link up well with Bellingham.
I’d probably put Sterling in the squad but don’t think it’s particularly controversial that he isn’t.
Edgar Davids, although I never held it against him
